Seward Middle School Alyeska Field Trip

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Seward Middle School students will participate in an optional school-wide field trip to Alyeska Resort where they will spend a day developing new skills, improving confidence, and hanging out with friends while engaging in a positive and healthy activity.  Students will be split into two groups, with half traveling on January 28 and the other half on January 29.

If your student is interested in participating, complete the paperwork included and return it to the front office by Friday, November 30.  There are a variety of packages available for students of all ability levels. Please read the information carefully and indicate your student’s preference. Include the total amount due as either cash or check made out to Seward Middle School.    Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for financial assistance.

**Note:  Students are strongly encouraged to take a morning lesson, regardless of their ability level.  Students will NOT be allowed to get an Upper Mountain pass unless they are in a lesson and supervised by an Alyeska Ski/Snowboard Instructor.  All free skiing and snowboarding with school chaperones will be on the Lower Mountain.

All students will ski or snowboard with adult chaperones at all times, so we encourage parents to volunteer to join us!  Adult chaperones can ski or snowboard at the same group rate as the students. All chaperones must complete the KPBSD volunteer application before participating in school events.

A special thanks to Seward PTA for their grant which will cover the transportation costs for our students.  Contact Ms. Liljemark (907-224-9024), if you have any questions.
