ALICE Drill Tuesday, 5/8

Seward Middle will be conducting a table-top exercise on the ALICE Protocols for response to an aggressive or dangerous intruder on our campus Tuesday, May 8th at 8:15am.   As you may remember, ALICE as an acronym for Alert, Lock-down, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate.  This protocol was adopted by the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District in the 2014-2015 school year and is intended to provide a variety of options for the staff and students to respond to a threat based on their proximity to it.  The drill will be theoretical.  The administration will provide sample scenarios of an armed intruder on campus.  Staff members will engage students in a discussion and answer questions regarding their best course of action, within the ALICE Protocol, based on their location in relation to the threat.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Principal Martin at 224-9000.  You can also contact school resource Officer Woodard at 224-9012.
