Cyber Crime Presentation

Brought to you by Lt. Valadez of SWPD and Sergeant Whitt from APD, students in grades 4-8 will learn through a short presentation which covers safety associated with Social Media, Cyber bullying, Sexting, and Online Predators. Sergeant Whitt presents annually across the Anchorage area to dozens of schools (private and public), PTA’s, ASD Counselors and Teachers. Most recently their unit traveled through the Northern Valley schools of the Matsu School District and in December presented at an Alaska Pediatricians conference. Sometimes people worry that they show images of child pornography. Sergeant Whitt, and Lt. Valadez assure you their presentations DO NOT include anything of the like. There are some difficult subjects such as the potential suicide risks associated with cyber bullying and that sexting occurs, but the presentation is conducted in a very professional manner with appropriate ways to deal with each.

A parent version of this presentation will be shared to parents April 11th, from 6:00-7:00pm, in the middle school auditorium. Learn how you can be proactive, to reduce potential for risky cyber behavior…
