Students Failing a Class

To Seward Middle Students and Parents/Guardians,

Beginning fourth quarter, the staff at Seward Middle decided to continue Monday grade checks for all students, in an effort to monitor and assist those with failing quarter grades.  We believe a routine check for all students will help each of them meet learning requirements in all classes as early as possible, and in doing so help them feel success.  We notice students with good grades feel good about themselves and make healthier choices!

Beginning Monday, April 3, should a student have an “F” in any course following the completion of Monday grade check, the student may:

  • Report to guided intervention study hall for Tuesday and Wednesday only of that week.
  • Be in closer contact with their parents/guardians, principal and intervention team, in an effort to assist, support students struggling.  (In this case, a student is routinely referred to study hall.)

We believe each of our students are capable of great progress and improvement this quarter!  With the help of you, and the intervention team (the teachers that work directly with your kiddo), we believe we can improve together!  Should you have any comments or questions, please share them with Andy Rothenberger at 224-9025 or arothenberger@kpbsd.org.

Best Wishes,

Andy
